More information on some of the events taking place throughout December:

    Winter Wonderland

    • Date: 21st November to 4th January 2020
    • Venue: Hyde Park

There are Christmas markets, and then there’s the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park. Every year it seems to just keep getting bigger and bigger, and 2019 is no different.

In one day spent there, you can go to a comedy club, see Paddington On Ice, drink in an Ice Bar, go ice skating and perform karaoke. We didn’t even mention the 360-degree rotating bar, creperies and all the sweet treats on offer.

It’s important to know that it is free to go there, but you’ll need to buy tickets for specific attractions from the Winter Wonderland website. It is also extremely busy at the weekend, so guest staying with us midweek can make the most of the entire park with ease.

    Dermot Kennedy

    • Date: 2nd & 3rd December
    • Venue: Eventim Apollo

One of the hottest acts of the year, having two nights at the Apollo is always seen as a big deal for an artist. With Dermot Kennedy releasing two albums this year, it’s a clear sign he’s a firm favourite with fans in the UK.

Dino Snores for Kids Christmas Special at Natural History Museum

    • Date: 7th December
    • Venue: Natural History Museum

One of the hidden gems in our opinion in terms of family activities in London, Dino Snores is having a festive special. Kids get to go on an after-hours tour of the museum, before taking part in Christmas workshops and sleeping under Hope the blue whale.

You can get full information on the Natural History Museum website.

    Stewart Francis

    • Date: 7th December
    • Venue: Eventim Apollo

The Canadian comedian has been slinging puns on stage and our TVs for years now. This show at the Apollo is the very last show he’ll ever perform as part of his Into The Punset tour.

    E.T in Concert

    • Date: 8th December
    • Venue: Royal Albert Hall

No this isn’t E.T coming on stage with a full band for a gig, but a live screening of the beloved Hollywood classic with a full orchestra in tow performing the legendary John Williams score.

    Dido

    • Date: 8h December
    • Venue: Eventim Apollo

The very last date on her worldwide tour, Dido is coming back to London to perform tracks from her latest album Still On My Mind as well as classics including Thank You (20 years old!) and White Flag.

Christmas with the Royal Choral Society at Royal Albert Hall

    • Date: 10th December
    • Venue: Royal Albert Hall

Here’s a crazy fact; the Royal Choral Society has performed at the Albert Hall over 1,500 times. They’ve played every year since 1871, and it’s become one of the most beloved traditions in the calendar.

    Christmas with Katherine Jenkins

    • Date: 12th December
    • Venue: Royal Albert Hall

In a mixture of her fantastic music and some songs from her Christmas Album, This is Christmas; Katherine is gracing the stage of the Royal Albert Hall once again for a delightful evening of entertainment.

    International Horse Show

    • Date: 16th to 2nd December
    • Venue: Olympia London

Unfortunately, we don’t have any room at the inn for horses this time of year, but if you pop down the road to the Olympia, you’re going to get a week full of dressage, showjumping and driving. You can find tickets on the Olympia Horse Show website.

    Ronnie Spector & The Ronettes

    • Date: 19th December
    • Venue: o2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Getting fully into the swing of Christmas, the legendary American singer is bringing a full band with her to run through many Christmas classics and songs from her back catalogue, including Sleigh Ride and Be My Baby.

    Ed Gamble

    • Date: 20th  December
    • Venue: o2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire

Arguably one of the best comedians in the country right now, it’s a little pre-Christmas treat to have Ed Gamble on stage in Shepherd’s Bush so close to Christmas.

    Carols at Royal Albert Hall

    • Date: 21st to 24th December
    • Venue: Royal Albert Hall

One of the rowdiest weeks of the year at Royal Albert Hall (in the nicest way possible) Carols at the Hall lets anyone come in, pop on a Santa hat and give it all to carols from yesteryear and a few Xmas favourites thrown in for good measure.

    The Nutcracker

    • Date:28th to 31st December
    • Venue: Royal Albert Hall

An annual tradition to shake away the cobwebs and get everyone out of the house after Christmas, the Birmingham Royal Ballet production of The Nutcracker is back for their third season taking on one of the most well-known Christmas classics.
