    Kew the Music 2019 will take place at the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens Kew and is comprised of a week-long programme of summer picnic concerts. With a variety of acts hitting the stage, there is something for everyone. Bring your own picnic or explore the enticing street food stalls and bars, then find a spot to get comfortable and enjoy a wonderful summer’s eve filled with good music, food and company within a stunning setting. 

    Exciting Headliners 

    At Kew the Music 2019, festival goers can look forward to an exciting selection of acts, and there is an exciting selection of acts suitable to all tastes. Here are some of the acts we’re looking forward to seeing at this year’s event.

    Beverley Knight and Billy Ocean

    The only double headliners of the festival and what a way to kick things off.  Both acts will perform full headline sets. With over 30 million records sold between the pair, expect a soulful start to affairs with a mixture of ballads and pop hits from Mr Ocean including When The Going Gets Tough and maybe even Get Outta My Dreams, Get into My Car

    Jess Glynne

    Arguably one of the biggest British names in pop right now, the talented Jess Glynne has been on a meteoric rise since her first album I Cry When I Laugh went triple platinum. Expect a lot of pop bangers and a voice that will surely get everyone singing along.

    Jools Holland

    What a hootenanny we can expect Thursday evening to be when Jools Holland and his rhythm & blues orchestra turn the picnic in to one gigantic blues show.

    He’ll have special guests coming along to join in, including the multi-talented Alison Moyet supporting affairs. 

    Adult tickets start at £45.00 plus booking fee, with Thursday evening also including the option to buy hamper tickets that include snacks and a bottle of wine for an additional £80.

    Craig David

    What a comeback Craig David has had in recent years. With his 2016 album Following My Intuition getting to the top of the charts (his first No.1 since his debut in 2000) his shows promise a mixture of his recent chart smashes and classics including Fill Me In and 7 Days.

    From selling more than 17 million albums to having a Bond theme, Garbage have spent 25 years as one of the most unique rock bands in the world. With their most recent album reaching #1 in America, they’re still at the top of their game.

    Rick Astley

    While he might be thought of a one-hit wonder around the world, back here at home, Rick Astley is one of our biggest 80s icons, making him the perfect act to close out the festival and weekend.

    Obviously, you’ll hear Never Gonna Give You Up, but with him recently having played live with Foo Fighters, expect a few surprises in the set too.

    Getting to Kew The Music 2019 from Kensington

    Going to the event from your room in Fraser Suites Queens Park couldn’t be easier.

    You can enter the festival via the Victoria or Elizabeth Gate. We would advise the Victoria Gate as it is closest to the Kew Gardens Tube Station. 

    The station sits on the District line, allowing you to take a direct route from Gloucester Road station just around the corner from the hotel. The journey takes on average 18 minutes over nine stops on the line.

    A taxi to the park would also take an average of 20 minutes depending on traffic.
